Our Mission

To enhance the health
of the people of the
region by providing
accessible,
cost effective, quality
health services.

Our Vision
RAHH will lead the
region’s healthcare
system by engaging
consumers, communities,
physicians and other
professionals in
improving health and
quality of life.
RAHH will be seen
as “ours” by the
communities it serves,
by the consumers
and families it provides
care to, by the people it
employs and by the
physicians who provide
care here.

To achieve this
vision,
RAHH will:

Maintain and strengthen
confidence and pride
in RAHH by consistently
demonstrating the
quality of care that
patients, residents,
and clients expect.

Be flexible, accessible,
friendly and quality-driven
so that people of the
area choose RAHH.

Encourage the
community to play
a role in its
development so that
consumers, providers,
and the people of the
region remain central
to RAHH’s planning
and governance.

Key Values

We foster the personal
growth of our employees,
physicians, and
other professionals.

We measure the results
of our work and
continuously improve
the quality of our
services on the basis
of that measurement.

We respect and nurture
the relationship between
providers and patients.

We provide cost-effective
healthcare services that
meet the needs and
exceed the expectations
of consumers.

We work closely
with physicians
to develop and sustain
mutually supportive
relationships that
effectively address
the health needs
of the community.

Health care fund
looks to the future
Above: Around-the-clock Emergency Medical Services are vital to local healthcare. For this reason, the Roseau Area Hospital & Homes Health Care Fund has made Emergency Care a priority. Below: Donations to Hospice and Home Health Care help provide in-home services to frail, handicapped, elderly, disabled and terminally ill patients who wish to remain at home when receiving care.

The Roseau Area Hospital and Homes Health Care Fund was established in 2004 to provide financial support for charitable and educational activities related to health care and senior living in Roseau County.

As a permanent financial resource, the Health Care Fund provides grants to help healthcare projects become a reality for the people of our community.

The fund exists for these reasons: 1) To promote developments and advancements in health care services; 2) To support programs which improve access to health care services; 3) To provide opportunities to financially support health care programs and services; 4) To support the priority areas of hospice, nursing homes, hospital, emergency medical services, home health care, and medical equipment.

“The success of the Health Care Fund rests entirely on the residents, friends, and visitors of Roseau County and the surrounding area,” says Milly Prachar, RAHH Senior Leader and one of the contact people for donors. “Your investment provides the ability to support local health care programs, projects and activities.”

A gift can be designated to any one of these priority areas: hospice, nursing homes, home health care, hospital, emergency medical services, and medical equipment or any health related area that is of interest to you.

A local Advisory Committee leads the Health Care Fund. Committee members are selected for their knowledge and commitment to the community, diverse backgrounds and affiliations, and willingness to work hard to build the Health Care Fund.

The eight-member committee is chaired by Roger Helgeson of Roseau. Other committee members are: Vice Chairperson Trish Allen and Roger Hockstedler of Warroad; Shirley Fugleberg, Jane Evans, and Bob Foley, Sr., of Roseau; Bill Wagner of Greenbush; and David Wensloff of Malung.

The Health Care Fund operates as a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit, making your contribution tax deductible.

For more information or to make a contribution to the Health Care Fund, contact Milly Prachar or Deb Haugen at 218-463-2500.

A portion of the Maggi Adams estate, which was willed to the Roseau Hospital District, will provide perpetual funding for medical equipment.

In recognition and honor of the late Maggi Adams, the Roseau Hospital District has contributed $235,000 to the Roseau Area Hospital & Homes Health Care Fund from her gift of more than half a million dollars.

Interest from these funds will go toward purchasing medical equipment, as specified by Maggi Adams. A new diagnostic imaging system was purchased for the hospital with some of the funds in 2004, and much of the rest will continue to benefit local healthcare through the Health Care Fund.
