Medical Park.
When completed in 2010,
this $8.2 million
complex will include a
40-bed skilled nursing
facility, 12 assisted
living apartments, and a
primary care clinic open
five days a week.
The
complex will also
feature the Greenbush
offices of LifeCare Home
Care, LifeCare
Behavioral Health, and
LifeCare Rehabilitation
Services which includes
occupational therapy,
physical therapy, and
speech therapy. A
wellness center with

building's design.
"It
was clear that Greenbush
needed this facility and
we are thrilled to see
it now coming out of the
ground," says Shannon
Carlson, Administrator
of LifeCare Greenbush
Manor.
Among the many
advantages of this new
facility are 24 private
rooms, a large community
gathering room, larger
dining area, ample
parking, and a
geothermal heating and
cooling system.
The
project is LEED

given to new
construction that meets
set practices of

LifeCare Healthcare Fund receives philanthropy award
The LifeCare Healthcare
Fund has been awarded
the Community
Philanthropy Award by
the Northwest Minnesota
Foundation. The LifeCare
fund received the
recognition for its
efforts to build and
strengthen the culture
of philanthropy in the
region. Started with
funds donated by the
Maggi Adams estate, the
LifeCare Healthcare Fund
has grown to more than
$400,000 from nearly 550
donors. Events such
as the LifeCare May
Walk/Run for Diabetes,
the Greenbush Rodeo
Breakfast, and the
annual Partners for
Health gala; which alone
raised over $20,000 in
each of the past three
years; have been
instrumental in the
fund's rapid growth.
As a result, more than
$40,000 in grants has
been awarded for new
medical equipment, local
projects, and a host of
activities that enhance
the lives of people
within the LifeCare
service area. The
LifeCare Healthcare Fund
has grown to include
eight individual funds
including a general
fund, hospice, medical
equipment, diabetes and
dialysis, parish
nursing, breast cancer,
and funds dedicated to
Roseau Manor and
Greenbush Manor.

Accepting the Community
Philanthropy Award on
behalf of the Lifecare
Healthcare Fund are
LifeCare employees Deb
Haugen and Sue Grafstrom.
With them are Healthcare
Fund Advisory Committee
