Construction Update:
LifeCare Greenbush Medical Park

LifeCare's brand new Greenbush Medical Park is expected to open in just a few short months.
The final phases of construction are expected to roll out smoothly with residents moving in early this fall, according to LifeCare's Shannon Carlson, administrator of the project.

"We've come a long way in a relatively short time. It's hard to believe it was less than two years ago that this very spot was an empty field," he says. "This final push toward completion will be an exciting time for everyone."

Carlson says the facility will have an incredibly positive impact on the city of Greenbush as well as neighboring communities.
Located on the west edge of Greenbush, the projected $8.2 million complex will include a 40-bed skilled nursing facility, 12 assisted living apartments, a primary care clinic, and local offices for several LifeCare departments.
This includes Behavioral Health, HomeCare, and Rehabilitation Services.
The building also will include a wellness center with memberships available to the community.
Regularly scheduled updates including construction photos, stories, and other information will be posted online at www.lifecaremedicalcenter.org.

LifeCare's Dawn Hedlund to present eight-week Mindful Eating Workshop
Program addresses overeating and yoyo dieting

LifeCare's Dawn Hedlund is now a licensed facilitator of Am I Hungry?, a comprehensive program that teaches participants to recognize and cope with triggers for overeating.

The 8-week workshop also helps participants determine what, when, and how much to eat without restrictive diet rules.
Hedlund, a Registered Dietitian and Wellness Coordinator at LifeCare, became interested in the idea after coordinating last year's LifeCare sponsored presentation by Am I Hungry? founder Michelle May, M.D.
Dr. May developed the Am I Hungry? workshop to address what she sees as the real causes of overeating and yoyo dieting.
In her book, titled Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat, she claims, "Most diets fail because they are negative and unsustainable, leaving the dieter feeling guilty and disappointed. Diets focus on what people should eat without addressing why they eat in the first place. As a result, the overeating cycle is never really broken."
The Am I Hungry? workshop will meet Wednesdays from July 7 through August 25, from 3:00 ñ 4:30 p.m. in the Delmore Conference Room at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau.
Seating is limited. Please pre-register by email: dhedlund@lifecaremc.com, or call (218) 463-4773.
