More than 2,500 Minnesotans are
waiting for a life-saving organ or tissue
transplant. Sadly, many of these individuals could
have been helped sooner if only more people would
choose to be a donor.
The Donate Life Minnesota Hospital Campaign is a
statewide effort to greatly increase the number of
registered organ and tissue donors.
The Minnesota Hospital Association is challenging
all hospitals across the state to work toward this
common goal.
The goal of the campaign is to have a minimum of 25%
of Minnesota hospitals participate and increase the
number of registered donors in the state by 100,000.
As a show of support for this life sharing campaign,
LifeCare Medical Center has partnered with the local
License Bureau to help spread the word.
"By working together, we can have a tremendous
impact on the number of registered donors in the
state and bring hope to the more than 2,500
Minnesotans waiting for a life-saving transplant."
says
Sue Lisell, Senior Leader of Patient Services at
LifeCare.
In Minnesota you can register to be a donor online
at
www.donatelifemn.org or simply register by
checking the box on your driverís license renewal
form.
"To help ensure that your wishes are fulfilled,
remember to tell your family of your desire to be an
organ or tissue donor." Lisell says.
