PATIENTS & VISITORS
Cell Phones
Cellular telephones are not permitted in designated
patient care areas of the hospital. Your cell phone may be used
in most other LifeCare facilities.
Coffee Shop/Gift Shop
The neighborhood Nook Coffee and Gift Shop is available
to patients, visitors and staff. The "Nook" provides a
variety of snacks, beverages, soups and sandwiches, in
addition to a nice selection of gift items. The "Nook" is
staffed by volunteers and is located just around the corner from
the hospital admitting desk.
Financial Assistance
A concern over a hospital bill should never prevent an
individual from receiving necessary health services. LifeCare
Medical Center is a charitable organization that is committed to
provide healthcare to patients regardless of their ability to
pay. Therefore, a Community Care Assistance Program is available
for those needing financial assistance.
A variety of factors are considered when making a determination
about eligibility to the Community Care program. These factors
include a patient’s income, family size, net worth, and the
amount of medical debt owed by the patient.
There is an application process that will be reviewed to
determine if a patient is eligible for this program. For more
information about LifeCare’s Community Care Assistance Program,
please contact our Financial Counselor at 218-463-4783
Pastoral Care
Spiritual and cultural needs may be an important issue
for many of our patients and residents who have been admitted to
a LifeCare facility. We know that your beliefs, values, and
practices have an impact on your health. It is important that we
be made aware of spiritual or cultural
needs that are relevant to your stay with us. If you have an
issue that is not being addressed, please notify your physician,
attending nurse or request to visit with our Chaplain or a
social worker from our organization. We will make every effort
to assist you.
LifeCare Medical Center has a meditation room located close to
the hospital nurses station, that is always open to patients,
families and their visitors. |
