BIRTHING CENTER
LifeCare Birthing Center provides quality medical care and personalized attention during a very important milestone in your family's life. We offer the comforts of private suites with the Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post-partum concept -- allowing families to have their entire birth process in the same room.
State-of-the-art healthcare is available from your provider in the comfort of a room with a home-like atmosphere.
PRENATAL CLASSES
Prior to delivery, LifeCare Medical Center staff is proud to offer Prenatal Classes to our community. These classes are done through a partnership with Roseau Community Education. Topics such as how to prepare for your birth experience, breathing and relaxation, pain management, mom and baby care, baby safety, breastfeeding, immunizations, and car seat safety are discussed at the sessions. The sessions are held
at LifeCare Medical Center, one night a week for three consecutive weeks, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. throughout the year.

We recommend Preparing for
Childbirth classes to be taken during your fifth month of
pregnancy. Therefore, you will have time to practice the
breathing and relaxation exercises and will be able to discuss
concerns and plans for labor with your doctor in a timely
manner.

There are pain management options for you to discuss with your healthcare provider. Our obstetric patients may be offered Epidural or Intrathecal morphine methods of pain management.
Special teaching is offered during your hospital stay on lactation education and the care of both mom and baby in order to help mom become comfortable with all the new things that she will be experiencing. In addition, LifeCare Home Care Services is available to make a follow-up visit to all new mothers after discharge.
The usual length of stay is 2 days for a vaginal birth and 3 days for a C-section.
